Last night on the news I heard a Repubican (Rand Paul) talking about how drug laws are unfair to minorities, and how they need to be reformed across the board, and that marijuana laws need to be changed as well. What a nice change, and what a testament to the way public thought is going on this matter. If even a Republican can talk about this, it’s a step in the right direction toward reforming the nation’s attutide on drugs, and the ridiculous War on Drugs, that so far has done nothing but cost tens of billions of dollars, fill America’s prisons, and destroy lives, families, and neighborhoods. We have GOT to get over the old religious puritanical thoughts about drugs and consider of the best way to address the issue. Drugs destroy lives, absolutely. But so do felony convictions and prison.

My view is simple, if alcohol is legal pot should be also. The thing is responsibility in terms of driving and such.
There’s an awesome article about this in The Rolling Stone. It adds that, contrary to popular belief, de-criminalization has led to a 20% drop in overdoses and high school drop-outs! 😀
