Music Can Calm the Savage Beast by William Isaac

Share

“Music Can Calm the Savage Beast,” is a paraphrase of a quote by British Poet William Congreve, way back in 1697. Over 300 years later, this statement still holds true for all of us!

Music can improve your mood if you are having a bad day. Fortunately, federal prisoners have access to a large music directory. The ability to buy and download music for which an individual enjoys has helped many prisoners, like myself, cope with the stress of our situations.

Country artist Trisha Yearwood has a song called, “The Song Remembers When.” When you listen to it, the song makes you remember a past with that special someone.

For me, certain songs bring back memories of high school sweethearts first loves, and even the good times with my ex-wives. Times with friends lost to time are relived through good music. For many prisoners, this gives us hope to one day be able to see them again.

I will leave you with this in closing. With all the chaos of your daily life and the craziness going on in the world, find time to stop and find your favorite songs and relax for just as long as the song lasts. Don’t forget to call or stop and pay a visit to your mother, as her day is May 12th.
