My name is Kenya Hill. I am a 43 year old mother of six children who are the reason I choose positivity and life with every God-given day I’m given to feel their love, surround them with my love, and encourage each other. They are truly my reason. I have been incarcerated since December 13, 2004 and I have a release date of March 9, 2026. I’m working hard to try to obtain a commutation of sentence to be released 5 years earlier which would place me out in late 2021 if all goes well. I am an African-American woman who aspires to empower women inside and when I do get home, I plan to advocate for women prisoners in Florida. I also have plans to start a summer camp program for youth that would focus on character development, dream building and goal orientation as well as developing creative ways for them to connect with their community helping the youth to discover their potential to prevent them from being sucked up by their circumstances or an unjust judicial system created to oppress and not rehabilitate. I love to write. I love people and I love helping people. I follow news stories and am very political. I have a lovely family of which I adore and they are very supportive.
