Share

So I thought I sould share with you this progam I am building.

WHAT IS S*HIP:

The word S*HIP is an acronym for
“Self-Esteem for the Handicaped Inside Prison”

This would be a volunteer based program for the physically and/or emotioally disabled-cronically and even termanally ill prisoners.

S*HIP would give awareness to “At Risk” disabled prisoner. This program gives the importance of changing lifestyles to avoid returning to prison and criminal activities, through proactive dialogues of selected Inmates, staff and volunteers from society.

This increases the disabled prisoners awareness of the negative consequnces of these activities through education and testimonials.

PROGRAM PURPOSE:

The S*HIP programs purpose is to assist prisoners who have a disability and to raise their self-esteem and to teach that life is a challenge with a disability, “but not a crutch”. We would teach about removing obstacles to happiness providing understanding and likeness.

MISSION STATEMENT:

“When we fearlessly fight for what we believe in and we remain hoplesslyoptimistic about life, love and the future, we create an authentic connection with all in our path. Most importantly with ourselves.

It is important to support education while we are in prison
to help build the lifeskills that are necesssary for re-entering
Society.

Most prisoners come to prison without even an
eighth grade education. with the help of people who
Truley care and non-profit organizations,

Members of the S*HIP Program could have the tools they
Need to start a successful new life within the confines of
Society.

I value your imput and advice. So if
You will, please comment, or you can reach me at:
