Yesterday I started a workshop class about communication, and a big part of it is making speeches to a roomful of guys. It was a humbling experience. I think of myself as an intelligent, well-adjusted guy, and I was ready to speak about the subject … and yet when I stood up and all those faces were staring at me, I froze and bombed. It was ugly, haha. But it’s good to be humbled, to be reminded every once in a while that there are always improvements you can make. And that is what the class is for, so I’m ready to try it again and get better.
