I think the natural state of almost every prisoner is to complain. About everything having to do with prison. I know I used to do it constantly, and I have to admit, looking back, most of it was for bullshit reasons. I’ve found that when you take full responsibility for why you’re in prison, why you’re life is the way it is (i.e., your own decisions), there’s really not a lot left to complain about. Your world becomes a lot more fair and just than you previously thought. And this is good, because complaining wastes a lot of time, engenders bad thinking habits, and it just makes you an all-around pain in the ass. 🙂
