It’s unfortunate that the very legitimate issues of police overreach and brutality are being smeared by criminal opportunists in Baltimore. They don’t care about the death of that poor man in police custody; they want to steal liquor and burn down old folks’ homes. I’ve seen riots here in prison where it comes down to the same thing: opportunists take advantage of any situation to steal, destroy, and act like hooligans. And often they even try to frame it as if they’r “fighting the good fight” or something like that, fighting against authority. Well, they were fighting against authority, all right, but they were not fighting any good fight. And the hooligans in Baltimore are just making the police look more reasonable for their (so far) restraint and professionalism.
