In polls, atheists are often the least trusted minority in America. Why? The Bureau of Prisons just found that while nonbelievers make up about 15% of America, they only make up two-tenths of 1% of inmates. Christians, on the other hand, are 80% of the country and make up 75% of all inmates. Countries in Europe have many more atheists than America (75% in Sweden and Denmark!) but much lower crime rates. The facts say that atheists simply behave better than religious folk. So we should get away from this erroneous idea that morality must equal faith or religion, and realize that atheists are getting a bad rap for no reason.
