When I first started this in 2001 I had no idea what would come of it. Starting out with one pen pal, then rising to several pen pals was amazing. I found the importance of communicating with others around the world. I found love. I found family! Now for you I do not know what your goals are in reaching out to others, but I do know that reaching out to me will bring you hope for a better day. Whether or not we remain friends or become lovers is not relevant at this time and point. It is relevant that we gain the trust of each other and get the communication going. We have so much to share. Pen Pal’ing is for winners, I’d say, because we both win in the end. We get something out of it that we didn’t have before. I have relationship specialties that I can share with you, and you have relationship issues and skills that you can share with me as well. We both can grow from the relationship together and become something so much stronger. My main purpose for writing to pen friends is to become like family. I believe that in the end we will be remembered by the quality of friendship that we have in life, not the dollar amounts in our bank accounts. So, when I ask you to drop me a quick note to find out if there is a connection there, I am looking at the big picture. Not just for today, but for the future down the line. I am looking at the type of family that we have become. I am looking at the trust and communication that we can develop throughout time. It is up to us and how far our relationship can go.
