The Fight of My Life by Michael Wayne Bryant

Share

My ignorance

was more than just a hinderance,

but a death sentence that brought about

no deliverance only a loss of one’s

innocence in this all out fight of

malevolence without forgiveness there’s

got to be a heaven, because hell is what

I’m living.

I became the catalyst,

Mr. Atlas with the weight of the world

on my back, while carrying a sack

full of troubles searching for answers

finding nothing, but more struggles

and bloody knuckles.

Now I fight

cause I choose to NO

one to lose to, the truth

is it has always been you

against you, so lets do

something new like turning a

vice into a virtue, sorry did I

confuse you.

Then let me bring you

up to speed in other words

ignorance is no longer my reed.

One step, one punch,

one day at a time

mountains of trials and

tribulations I climb. Hand

over hand and if I fall then

I crawl until I stand again.

Where the dramas of life never

end, but forced to bend yet

never to break in a world of

problems I can’t escape.

So, I fight to fight

the good fight with all

my might to life myself

out of the murky waters

of fright into the streams

of hallows light in the fight

of my life.
