#FreeTheIll Challenge by Peter Louissaint

Share

People in the free world for 2024, if you have a heart, if you possess even an ounce of care, empathy, and understanding, I challenge you to make a conscious effort to find, get to know, and hopefully free someone who’s been locked up for a while who shows through their actions, accolades, aspirations, ambitions, etc., that they have indeed made a genuine internal change and truly deserve a second chance to return to society to get their life back and to make something constructive and productive with their life.

There are many platforms (such as this one) to explore to find someone who’s incarcerated, so that’s the easy part. However, maintaining positive, supportive, open and non-judgmental communication is where things get tricky. Whether you choose to correspond via JPay email, snail mail, video visits, contact visits or talking on the phone, as you become more acquainted with said person(s) if you find them to be credible and earnest in their quest to rehabititate, I challenge you to be that factor in their life that’s there to provide the moral and emotional support for them to keep striving to be a better human being and not repeat the same mistakes that cost us our freedom.

This challenge includes spearheading fundraising campaigns to raise money to fund any and all legal expenditures and cost. Also to help cover costs for a successful reintegration and transition back into society.
