“Praise the Lord,my soul;all most inmost being,praise His holy name.Praise the Lord,my soul,and forge not all His benefits…who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s,”(Psalm 103:1-5).

David is describing the benefits of knowing the Lord personally. David is praising the Lord because the Lord is so good,its beyond finding out,and yet,the Lord is ever ready to reveal as much as we will seek!Verse 3 says the Lord forgives ALL your sins.Maybe you’ve been wondering if God can truly forgive you for things you my have said or done.Maybe you’ve even walked away from the Lord.The good news is,God has ALREADY forgiven you.When Jesus went to the cross,He took ALL of our sins,past,present,and future, to the cross with Him,and ALL of God’s wrath,punishment, and fiery judgement fell on Jesus.Isaiah 53:4-5 says,”Surely,he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God,stricken by him and afflicted. But he was pierced for OUR transgressions,he was crushed for OUR iniquities;the punishment at brought us peace was on him,and by his wounds we are healed.” This is why David said the Lord forgives all your sins, AND heals all your diseases. When Adam sinned,the curse of death entered the human genome and various genetic diseases began to be passed down through the generations.But when we believe in Jesus,we receive forgiveness of ALL our sin.Friend,God knew every sin you would ever commit in your life, and the mistakes you have yet to make,and He still loves you.If we receive this forgiveness, e can be sure that ALL our diseases are healed as well! This is why Jesus gave us the Holy Communion,so that we could drink of the cup of His blood,which we shed for the remission of sins,and also eat the bread of His body,which carried away ALL our sickness and disease,including diseases of the mind,such as anxiety or depression. So,begin praising the Lord Jesus today,and like David,let Him crown you with love and compassion.Allow Him to satisfy your desire for good things,and you will surely see your youth renewed like the eagle’s,and you’ll be able to rest, knowing that the Lord is ever on your side!
