My name is Amber Rose Riley but my friends call me Irish as I am 6ft tall with fire red hair and bright green eyes. I am 31 years old and I have been incarcerated since I was 16 years old. I was arrested for murder and tried as an adult and sentenced to 26 years to life – I have served 15 years and am eligible for release in 2026 but I also have a commutation pending which could lead to my release in 2019.
I am a college student here and work construction while also participating in numerous self help groups. I work with local at-risk youth in a program called RYSE,, a youth diversion program where we mentor youth to help them avoid prison. I avoid the drama and corruption of CDCR but life here can be crazy. I stay as positive and productive as possible.
