Hello World!
My name is Lawrence, I’m 29 years old, I got arrested August of 2012 for a officer involved shooting, my release date is July of 2037. I’m serving time in Washington State Department of Corrections.
A little about me, I am actually a inspirational writer and I mainly focus on Mental Health/Green Therapeutic Living. I was diagnosed with PTSD, Social Anxiety, and Depression shortly after my arrest and I attempted suicide while housed in ultra security. I was just tired of always letting everyone down and hurting people because I chose to live a violent lifestyle. I have a long history of gang violence, gun violence, and other violent crimes. But deep down, I knew I was not being “me”. I couldn’t just tap out so I chose to be of service to my community and help people overcome what I struggled with. So first, I had to help myself and find a way out of that dark place. I ended up working in Horticulture Program and I mastered gardening, composting, vermiculture, and landscaping. I noticed how the natural environment helped balance me out so I started doing research on environmental psychology. A couple years later I began sharing my story and raising awareness. Its been a hit but I’m not able to get the right exposure. I hope this opportunity provides that for me…
I’m also a very talented Wildlife Artist(something I recently discovered!) I donate my work to wildlife conservation, humane societies, zoo’s, nursing homes, charity etc. I draw in graphite, charcoal, pastel, color pencil and some ink. I can draw people, cars, architecture, nature and I’m good at creating logos for companies/organizations. This is my alternative to medicine and what keeps me focused. I would love to raise money for a lawyer but right now I just want to give back…
