  1. Reblogged this on Writing into the Light and commented:
    Hi

Thanks for the follow *, as the reason I write is to share.
    * (Though my family and close friends say it would be far more entertaining with a video-camera # in “real life”, rather than in cyberspace!)

    # By the way, do they still make them in today’s ever-faster changing world..or is it all done with mobile phones?

(get with the times now,”luddite”* c – it should be a smart phone)

    * or so I was often called by my “my techno-geek” friend, Bill (“the gonk”)

“total non-techno” c (who doesn’t possess a mobile phone, after a rather eventful’ experience some years back, whilst trying to walk, talk and chew gum at the same time)

    Who says men can’t multi-task!

    Kind regards

    craig

    • My name is Gary Waid and I am a writer (see GOLIATH, GITMO, SPLINTER CITY…), and Down & Out Books has just released my latest effort, DANCING BEAR, A MEMOIR. written during my time in prison. I spent 12 years smuggling pot in the Caribbean. And 8 years in prison for my troubles. This is a collection of stories, very FUNNY stories, about my years off shore, on the run, and in prison for my excesses. It’s history, in the mold of Hunter S. Thompson. It’s Gonzo and informative. You could ask your people to go to Amazon Books, type in DANCING BEAR, GARY WAID. And send you the book. Writing is an honorable way to spend your time in the joint.

  2. I am very moved that Inmate Blogger exists for those who are physically imprisoned. I was moved to tears that my blog was being followed by Inmate. Thank you and Hope it is worth the read. I do understand the pain and feelings of incarceration..mostly from within the soul. I had to “come out” of my “cage” in order to be able to write and take up music and now painting to continue to grow in a freedom from within that I feel was introduced to me from Christ. Thank you again for what feels like an honor. I also have a website of similar fare that I started because of the need at the time to have more creative license that I couldn’t get in WordPress at the time.

I’m intrigued by your follow and blog. I’m really looking forward to reading the posts here and also to interacting in some way with the writers.
I really hope I can make a positive contribution.
Should the folk who share their stories here visit my blog, I hope they find a smile or three to brighten their day! 😉

  4. I wasn’t aware that prisoners were allowed to be bloggers too. Not sure they are in the UK, so might have to check on that.
My main reservation might concern the crime they are in for, but in general, it should be something positive for inmates.
Thanks for following my blog, which is appreciated.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. Thank you for following my blog… I have followed yours back. My son was just sentenced to time in State Prison… I cried for a whole day. The universe has connected us here in some grand way. Thanks so much. I look forward to reading this site.

  6. I appreciate you choosing to follow my blog–and seeing this, I’ll return the favor. Writing can be a flight of freedom for those whose physical limitations are obvious. I value what you’re doing.

  7. Welcome (to everyone involved) to Virtual Vitamins. One of the primary messages of the Bible is that repentance brings forgiveness and redemption. My prayer is that all of the inmates may discover God’s love for them and His purpose for them, even at this point in their life.
