The expectation of collectivism in prison is almost overwhelming. It’s us against them. Prisoners versus the cops. You’re expected to be part of the team, act the part of a convict, etc. It’s yet another example of bad thinking habits. Being a part of a team of prisoners is not something with any value. It’s something to be avoided. It makes you myopic. When someone gets reprimanded or punished in any way, it’s always the fault of the “fuckin cops.” and people sit around and commiserate with each other and say, “Yeah, bro, they did you dirty.” Not once does anyone think that maybe your own behavior is why you got in trouble. Maybe the cop is just doing his job and you’re being childish in denying your responsibility. And of course, if anyone does bring that up, they get confusion or hostility. “What, are you sticking up for the cops?”
No, the point is to stick up for reason, for the truth.
