Today by Sean Benson

Welcome to my blog! I am an aspiring artist hoping to use this platform to expand my message to a wider audience.

Here is a verse I wrote called, “Today”.

Today

Ask for the truth and get no less. They say don’t stress but there’s no rest

For the wicked as of today, I’ve seen a man eat his own flesh and you don’t get what its like to be in the belly of the beast, but I guess that means we’re both blessed.

Problems on my own chest, hate borders don’t like fences with barbed wire today I watched a man ends his life, turned ten into a life sentence, count my blessings, I see light in the dark, see it bright when the light lessons around me, keep searching for life lessons and break it down, make sure it’s the right message

So, I spell and verse the fact that this might be hell on earth, know damn well it hurts, just a name and a number, what is the life of a felon worth?

Look around, if it’s life or death, can’t tell what’s worse.

Every day I pray, I won’t see a man blaze his vein with a razor blade, around here they’ll let you bleed out, been up for days, scared to die but I’m not afraid of pain, so I try to stay sane enough to enjoy the sunshine after days of rain, inside this crazy brain, insane, the more it change! The more it stays the same….
