Taylor Swift’s enemies today could be her best friends tomorrow. What is happening in colleges and universities seems outrageous to me. Israel had a peace treaty with Hamas. People from Gaza could go into Israel to work, shop, and eat. On October 7, 2023, Hamas savagely attacked the Jewish people. The attack was planned and barbaric. They opened fire on defenseless people, microwaved babies, decapitated Israelis, and viciously raped women and girls then killed them. And now Israel is the bad guy in all this?
As a prisoner, I live with some of the most difficult, selfish, lying, and violent men, and what I’ve learned (and might help out here) is to never tell someone they are wrong if you are trying to influence or convince them of a point. If you do (which I have done many times) they will do everything they can to prove they are right. Instead, say something like, “I can understand why you feel as you do, and if I was in your shoes I would feel the same way.” Then state your point calmly, respectfully, and truthfully. Also, I found it’s easier if it really doesn’t matter, or if they just want to gripe, then let them be right.
However, I believe that Israel has shown a lot of restraint because they haven’t gone into the West Bank. The Palestinian people are not their enemy. Their enemy is Hamas. Even the Palestinian Authority wants to get rid of Hamas. Think about it, Hamas can stop what is happening by releasing all the hostages. What is also important is most Arab countries want Hamas gone, and groups like them, from Saudi Arabia to United Arab Emirates, even Qatar.
Is it true that college students are bored, lonely, and lack human contact? Is it true that some of those protesters are not students and are traveling from university to university? Are they using Trump tactics by fanning the flames and blaming Israel instead of Hamas?
Do any of you read the Bible? The Jewish people will always be God’s chosen people. Us, human beings, need someone or something to hate. It’s a characteristic. During World War II, Japan attacked the United States and were our sworn enemy, but today they are our ally. China was our ally, and now our adversary. What about Germany? What about 9/11, Al-Quaeda was our enemy (Remember, every American became a patriot) and now our ally in the fight in Syria. What about Vietnam? The Vietnamese people love Americans. No one is better than anyone else and there is always someone who is worse off than you. Therefore, your sworn enemy today could be your best friend tomorrow. Am I wrong? Is there something I’m missing? Why is it Israel’s fault? So, Taylor’s enemy could become her next best friend, and America’s BFF will always be Israel.
