Hi, my name is Steven M. Johnson. 
I am doing Life for a crime I did not commit. (Here it goes, another inmate claiming innocence). In my case, I was found guilty not on testimony of the victim but of my sexual orientation. I was known bi/gay (confused on which at the time). Anyway, my ex best friend had shoplifting charges pending against him at the time (Prosecutor did not tell the Defense about it at the time of trial). Even the judge’s comments at sentencing were about my sexuality. My green Datsun B210 turned into a White Chevy, Blue Denim Cowboy hat turned into a White Straw hat, my brown checkered shirt turned into a white t-shirt. The Gold Timex I had was confiscated by police and never seen again. Stated the watch was similar to the watch the perp had? I was ID from college years book after being shown mugshot which he never could identify me from. In court my hair changed color from blonde to brown and I had a beard at the time of the crime but no one ever brought that up or called the Barber in that had just cut my beard off the day I had it cut off. So my 22 witnesses were called liars by States Attorney. During the trial it came out that States attorney went down to St. Mary’s county from neighboring Charles County to threaten & intimidate witnesses, to change their testimony and when they did not testify correct on the stand he would pull them off the stand and they would come back and say the version he wanted them to say. Except for one who testified that police and state attorney tried to persuade him to change his testimony but Judge Bowling overrode and claimed he was mistaken.
I have tried every appeal possible but Charles County shoots down every one of them. I have tried for pro-bono attorneys. I have written to almost every attorney in the phone book but once I tell them I have no money for an attorney they refuse to answer my letters or just send them right back.
I recently tried for Substance Abuse 8-505-507 for treatment in McVets. Charles County shot it down. Charles County is a backwards county and racist county and every anti-anything but straight and 1950s thinking. According to them if you’re gay or whatever you are a pervert of all sorts.
I have one appeal left and I am working on it now — a motion to reopen my first post conviction but I need a lawyer. For going pro-se gets turned down every time. I recently went up for parole and the parole officer bitched for 30 or 45 minutes hearing about me having an honorable discharge from the Military. The parole officer moaned for over 30 minutes of my parole hearing about how he felt it was unfair for me to have Honorable Discharge from the Military.
Anyway I would love to hear from someone for I get hardly no mail. Most of people are dead except for my 90 year old Father.
