Echoes of Silence, by Charles Garrison

Poem:

watching shadows of snowflakes dance beneath lamppost
exhaling miserably she sighs…
even amid such heartache
she doesn’t feel alive
as the debt of addiction bankrupts all cent’s of hope
when you’re attempting to make a dollar
before somebody drops a dime
it is amid the echoes of silence
that our fleeting conscious reappears
why many would rather chaos
that what we most fear
her arms sing such a sorrowful song
in a melody off key
but can’t compare to the blemishes
impossible to see
and if you’ve ever felt like crying
don’t waste a tear on me
as she is in a far worst condition
than I could ever be
