When you meet someone new for the first time you get certain vibes from them. You either like their personality or you don’t. You like their choice of shoes or shirt or you don’t. Unfortunately this is true with the color of someone’s skin. If your blackz white, brown, tan, yellow, or any other color Allah created someone won’t like it. Even if we move past the color of our skin the religion we practice or how much money we make will no doubt divide us. Moving forward, after this insane year we’ve been having in a positive and understanding light is important and urgent. Its a matter of life or death in some situations. The images I continue to see on T.V. are heartbreaking and trying to explain to my kids that some people have different cultures and upbringings is hard. Some people are raised to love and unfortunately some people are raised to hate. The brief moments that’s been captured on cell phones across this country has created life long memories of sadness, pain, and grief. These bittersweet times are uniting the knots of hate, prejudices, and discrimination and fostering love, peace, and togetherness. We lived our life ignoring the obvious simply because that’s just the way things are. Today is a new day, times has changed and generations to come will not just stand by and be silent when faced with hate. Our children deserve better and as parents we are obligated to teach them what’s right. There’s people who will try to turn us against each other but that’s when we have to stand up for what we know to be true. So during these uneasy times as we deal with Covid-19, police brutality, racism, elections, Donald Trump, and global warming just remember that the more voices we have the louder the message. In all we must move forward with pure and positive intentions, thoughts and actions to live in a better world!!
