SOCIAL DISTANCING RIGHT! by MARCUS MCFARLANE

At Trumbull Corrections in Ohio we’re told to stay safe wear the face mask they provided for us seven weeks ago (even though they are only supposed to be good for 14 washes) and are also not mandatory to wear ,socially distance yourself in a housing unit that we share with 120 other prisoners plus staff that inter mingle with each other during and after work at parties/get togethers. several staff tested positive for Covid-19 as well as inmates at which point we were still able to mingle in and outside the housing units.

Prisoners are being sent to the hospital on a weekly basis due to Covid-19 and our health and well being is still not being considered . the director of prisons went on the news and said we are all going to get mass tested , but that’s a lie prisoners were sent email blast saying there is no plans to mass test prisoners only the staff will be tested ! the staff that tested positive are given the option to work or take leave for two weeks ! prisoner’s that are complaining of the actual symptoms are overlooked if they don’t have a high temperature , but those that do have a high temperature due to working out or the high heat in he housing units because of poor ventilation and no air conditioning and lack of enough windows that open are taken and put in segregation that is temporarily being used for quarantine for fourteen days further exposing us to the corona virus .

the first positive case in a housing unit that unit was put on lock down and Everything was delivered to them , every precautionary measure was taken and adhered to ,but unfortunately after that every other positive result in other housing units were not taken seriously and treated poorly. we were told no one is permitted to move to other units because of the virus yet they are constantly shuffling us from one unit to the next whether its coming from segregation or another unit that was put on “quarantine” .

institution to institution transfers were put on hold until two weeks ago when several prisoners from other institutions that are known to have a severely high number of positive cases were transfered here and the housing units they were put in ended having outbreaks and inmates having to be sent to the hospital to be put on ventilators. as of now five of eight housing units are on “quarantine” for several prisoners in those units having positive test.

WHO IS LOOKING OUT FOR US AND HOW IS THIS SOCIAL DISTANCING , I WAS SENTENCED TO DETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME , NOT A PRISON TERM WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF DEATH DUE TO NEGLIGENCE !
