Unseen Reality, by Daniel Carnes

Hebrews 1:14 asks,”Are not all angels ministering spirits, sent to serve those who are the innheritors of salvation?” So,all of the angels are actually our servants. How do they serve us?

Psalm 34 details the true fear of the Lord.David wrote,”Come my children, listen to me;I will teach you the fear of the Lord.Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.Turn from evil and do good.Seek peace and pursue it.The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;” (34:11-15).So, the fear of the Lord has nothing to do with being afraid of Him, but is actually speaking truth, and not lies. This means that no matter what is going on in the world around us,we do not complain,or speak fear, but we declare the Word of God.If we don’t know the Word on a given topic, then we go to the word, spend time in it,get it in our heart and speak it out our mouth. Its the key to activating His blessing. In verse 7,David wrote,”The angel of the Lord encamps round about those that fear Him and He delivers them.” So,the Lord and His angels are all round us when we when we speak the truths of His word, and NOT the lies of the enemy. We must NOT call things like they are.Although we have sometimes wanted to “tell it like it is,” God says to tell it like HE SAYS it is.He called Abraham the Father of many nations BEFORE he even had a child. When He changed his name to Abraham, which means “Father of many nations,” Abraham now declared what God said every time he spoke his own name.Romans 4:17 details this process. “God,in whom he believed-the God that gives life the dead and calls those things that be not as though they were,” and verses 19-21,”Without weakening in his faith,he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead-since he was about a hundred years old-and that Sarah’s womb was already dead.Yet,he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God,but was strengthened in his faith, and gave glory to God,being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.” So,Abraham refused to say what he saw.He faced the facts, but kept calling himself the father of many nations. He didn’t look at the situation and waver in unbelief. That is,he never allowed the circumstances to determine his belief. He believed in God’s word despite what he saw.He walked by faith and not by sight.

Psalm 91is the Lord’s promise of protection to His believers. Its similar to what we read in Psalm 34.We’re told that when we are His,He assigns angels to us,just like the first verse we read in Hebrews.Psalm 91:9-13,”If you say,”The Lord is my refuge,”and you make the Most High your dwelling,no evil will befall you,nor any plague come near your dwelling. For He will give His angels charge over you,to guard you in all your ways;they will lift you up in your hands,so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra;you will trample the great lion and the serpent.” Now,interestingly, the devil quoted this verse to Jesus. He’s heard believers quote it from the time it was written, which is why he wants us to complain. He wants us to get angry/frustrated,and start cursing. You don’t have cuss to curse, either. We read in Psalm 34(above)that we are NOT to speak evil,or tell lies.Abraham REFUSED to speak what he saw, heard, thought,or felt.He ONLY rehearsed and spoke the Word of God.The devil knows he can only bring evil upon us,and bring plague(sickness)to our dwelling,IF we agree to it by verbal contract. If we speak God’s word, these angels are there, and the devil cannot pass. This is actually the truth of what happened to Job.The devil knew that God had surrounded Job.So,how did the devil get in?Job said in his heart daily that he wondered if his children had sinned, and he feared their deaths(Job1:5).THEN the devil’s strategy to attack them begins(Job1:6).First,evil and disaster came upon them, then plague came to Job’s dwelling, the very things Psalm91 promises against. And in Job3:2,he says,”The thing I greatly feared has come upon me;what I dreaded has happened to me.” People often blame God for Job’s problems, but it was NOT God’s doing!

Psalm 103:1-5,”Bless the Lord,o’ my soul;and all that is within me,praise His holy name.Bless the Lord,o’ my soul, and forget not all His benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” This doesn’t sound like He “allows” the devil to afflict people. No,but if you praise Him as this verse,Psalm 91&34 say to do,these are the benefits! Then,in verses 19-22, we read,”The Lord has established His throne in Heaven and His kingdom rules over all.Hallelujah, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, who obey His word.Hallelujah, all His heavenly hosts, you His servants who do His will.Hallelujah, all His works, everywhere in His dominion.Bless the Lord,o’ my soul.” “Hosts” are armies of angels.

So,start praising God.No matter what the situation looks like, bless His name. Speak His word.Don’t give in.Angels are all around you because you are His child.Begin to praise Him and speak His word, and He and the angels will roar. The enemy will flee, and you WILL see the victory.

“When the servant of the man of God got up the next morning,an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city.”Oh no,my Lord! What shall we do?” The servant asked.”Don’t be afraid,”the prophet answered.”Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed,”Open his eyes,Lord,so he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2Kings6:15-17

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened…
