Today in Marion correctional institution in Marion Ohio the covid-19 virus has infected both staff and inmates.To which my prayers are to the infected.However The now response from the institution is to not serve breakfast but serve a brunch with one dinner bag.With a promise the brunch meal would be passed out at 9:00 a.m.(however it was well after 12p.m.) was approved by the state and all calories would be met according to O.D.R.C. standards.Durning our lockdown the breakfast meal was one peanut butter packet,2 jelly packets,1 milk & 2 slices of bread.One regular lunch meal from O.D.R.C. ‘s menu and a dinner bad of 2 slices of Bologna,4 slices of bread 1 fruit.Upon the incarcerated men speaking up about the abnormal meals the institution after a week did try to improve the meals under the current conditions. Meaning nobody KNOWS WHAT TO DO IN A GLOBAL PANDEMIC OR HOW TO HANDLE IT IN PRISON! PERIOD even as our great wardens,Governors,prison administration may claim there just isn’t any experience to draw from so things are random at best ! And that’s understood too.But incarcerated individuals can’t just be treated as animals and told to deal with it.

I can’t say they fixed the problem but it was addressed.We began to receive boiled eggs in the mourning instead of peanut butter and jelly,and they began to put “bags of chips in the dinner bags with bologna”.

However we were told our 2,000 calorie intake would be met.
Impossible !

In the midst of a health crisis the taking away of a meal was the answer?….There has not been commersary for nearly 3 weeks,food boxes are not being passed out in a timely manner at all,men have no food,no hygiene products or very little who knows what’s next?….But officers are equipted with mase pellet paintball guns….Never really seen durning “normal operations”.So what really is the plan for incarcerated individuals durning this pandemic?…

There was a situation in the dorm I’m (there was also another dorm where an officer had a issue) in for THE BRUNCH BEING APPAULINGLY and a officer had to call for back up and all of 4 officers came in the dorm to see what the problem was the other officers came but never came into the dorm!!
There was not a “THREAT OF VIOLENCE”But a want of some kind of human treatment and reality check instead of just telling men be calm…..AGAIN THIS IS BEYOND CRITICAL WE ARE IN A TIME WHERE WE ALL NEED EACH OTHER IN SOME KIND OF WAY.

HOWEVER I AM A WRONGLY COVICTED MAN WHO IS FIGHTING HIS CASE I AM IN PRISON I AM A MAN WORTH FOLLOWING AS TAUGHT BY THE RIDGE PROJECT I AM A GRADUATE OF.I AM NOT A ANIMAL,I AM NOT A WORTHLESS CRIMINAL WHO IS EXPENDABLE THATS WHAT IM NOT AND THERE ARE SEVERAL MEN WHO ARE OF LIKE STATURE.
I think our prison administration is TRYING I’m just not sure what they are trying sometimes.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO GET OUT TO PASS THE INFO THAT MEN HAD TO “FUSS AND COMPLAIN” TO HAVE OFFICER CALL FOR BACK UP WHICH ISNT GOOD.TO GET WHAT MEN HAD COMING WHAT IF THE INSTITUTION GOT IT RIGHT AT SHIFT MEETING BEFORE COMING IN?
OH AND SENDING WRITE UP’S OR INFORMAL COMPLAINTS ARE JUST A WAY TO BE SINGLED OUT AND PUT IN SEGREGATION/THE HOLE!SO MEN HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH THAT TOO.
AGAIN THIS ISNA WORLDWIDE ISSUE AND PRISONERS ARE NOT EXPENDABLE!
