Summer Rose, by Charles Lamar Garrison

Poem:

stricken by the beauty of a summer rose
oblivious to the winter thaw
outside this broken window
doesn’t feel that way at all
see…
this is the window…
you are the flower…
and I am the morning sun
have I strayed too far to reach you
as distant as we’ve become
I go out my way to find you
but you don’t look for me at all
why repair such broken window
if you can’t see past the winter thaw
