Liberation Through Struggle, by Davel Dillard

Share

my name is Davel I’m currently incarcerated for aggravated robbery, I only got 80 days left at the moment but I’m finishing off 9 years in total. I go home September 17th. I’m 25 years old and I been incarcerated since I was 16, but despite the circumstances I’m still a pretty outgoing person with a great since of humor and a good outlook on life.

but this is what I wanted to blog about, everything in the universe has duality meaning a positive & negative aspect of being. and in most cases it takes most people to live in a negative state of being to transcend to something positive. prison is built on negativity, its meant to make people suffer for whatever choices they made on top of cruel and unusual punishment by certain people in authority. but it also posses duality through individuals, we can choose to let it make us worse or better. so they main point I’m trying to make is just because we made a bad choice doesn’t mean we are all bad people. it took me to come here to be able to live as something better

  1. I’ve been paralyzed from the shoulders down since August 2013. I fainted in my kitchen and woke up unable to move. I was there almost 2 days until someone found me. It’s taken some really difficult hardships for me to become a stronger person and to grow in my faith. Thank you for what you’ve written in your post. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
