The question I’d like to pose to you is are the “stones” and “buildings” spoken of in Mark 13:1-2 literal stones and buildings?
For the answer, read 1Peter 2:5 where it says: ‘Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to Yahweh by Yeshua ha-Mashiach (i.e.Jesus Christ).’
The Hebrew word used in these verses for “stone” is “eben,” and it can be defined as “a mass, a considerable quantity, or a majority.” We are the stones! When believers come together in love and truth, they metaphorically erect a synagogue, a church, a mosque, a temple where Yahweh can be glorified. Yeshua (Jesus) himself testafies of this in Matthew 18:20, where he tells us: ‘For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.’
We were given the name “Adam” because we were named after the place from which our body was taken, “adamah” (i.e. the earth). Also, 25 of the 103 Natural Elements can be found within our body.
We are also the buildings! The Hebrew word used in these verses for “building” is “binyan,” and also means “house, temple, edifice, or skeleton.” In 1Corinthians 3:9 we will read: ‘For we are laborers together with Yahweh; ye are Yahweh’s husbandry, ye are Yahweh’s building.’ Then in 2Corinthians 5:1 we read: ‘For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of Yahweh, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.’
Our body is the “house not made with hands” that takes generally 270 days (or 9 months) to build. Just as Mosheh (i.e. Moses) received the specifications for the Tabernacle from on High, as well as Solomon’s Temple being built according to certain specifications, the human body has specs as well.
It is recorded that the body is made up of approximately 100 trillion cells, 206 bones, 600 muscles, and 22 internal organs. All of which are run by 9 different systems: 1. the Skeletal System 2. the Muscular System 3. the Respiratory System 4. the Circulatory System 5. the Urinary System 6. the Reproductive System 7. the Endocrine System 8. the Digestive system 9. the Nervous System.
It couldn’t be more apparent that we are a living Tabernacle of Yahweh. And ruin befalls any building by way of poor maintenance and neglect. We fail to maintain this living Temple by lack of exercise, bad eating habits, and unhygenic pratices. We neglect it by not adhering to or applying the Word of Yahweh in our lives.
This is what Yeshua ha-Mashiach (i.e.Jesus Christ) was referring to in Mark 13:5-11 when he informs his disciples about there being wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, natural disasters, famines, and believers being persecuted for their faith. When we fail to live by the revealed Word of Yahweh, all sort of tribulations and sorrows become so common that they are perceived as a natural occurance of life.
But they’re not!
We are created in the image and likeness of Yahweh, and our original state is that of ahavah (love), emeth (truth), shalom (peace), chesed (mercy), tsedeq (justice), qor-ruach (equanimity/balance of mind), and daath (light). The deception we should be on guard against is the falsehood that Christ is some sort of external apparition. “And I (Yahweh) will put My Spirit into you. Thus I (Yahweh) will cause you to follow My laws and faithfully to observe My rules” (Ezekiel 36:27).
Ha-Mashiach (the Messiah or Christ), that true saving power, is within each of us. But in order to regain our lost estate, we have to submit to and obey the Will of Yahweh.
HOTEP (Peace)
