DIRECT EXAMINATION OF VELVIE PROFFITT CONTINUES
Q. Okay. But, if there had been an agreement, where would the delivery have been made?
A. In Radford.
Q. Okay. In other words, you would have had to have gone to Radford?
A. Yes.
Q. And were you going to go to Radford?
A. No.
Q. Okay. So anyway, what did you tell Mike?
A. That I thought that the purpose was not going to be used in the right type of manner. That is was something for a habit that — I know that I only gotten them for my pain when I had ran out of my prescription where I had surgery for my arm. And he was complaining about troubles with his knees. He was also saying that his parents needed them. That I just — I didn’t feel comfortable.
Q. What did you do with that money that he — he laid down on the table?
A. At first, I handed it to David and said, hold on to it cause I don’t want to hold it. And then, once I seen the way that Michael was talking about them in the way that a person that’s severely addicted, or a person that wants to use them in the wrong way — when I said, hand him the money back.
Q. And what did David do with the money?
A. He handed the money back to Mr. Worrell.
Q. Now, was that the last time that you all talked about Loritab’s?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. Now, while this is going on, I mean, in Mr. Worrell’s apartment, did you text David?
A. Yes.
Q. And what did you text him?
A. I said, is he an undercover cop?
Q. Okay. And how was he making you feel?
A. Like I was being put on the spot. And he had told me about him supposedly being a sniper, and about his family’s history of police enforcement and military.
Q. Okay. So, at some point did you learn that he had been a Marine?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. And how soon after you got to — got to his apartment did you learn that he had been a Marine? Or was that something you all talked about in the car drive?
A. In the car drive.
Q. Okay. And from the time to time did all of you all talk about his Marine Corp experience?
A. At some point — point, yes.
Q. I mean, I’m talking about during the whole course of the afternoon.
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. You all — Did you all talk about it on more than one occasion?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. And what did Mr. Worrell tell you about his Marine Corp experience?
A. That he had some pretty bad experiences. That he had been suffering from post traumatic distress from him — his buddies that he was grouped with being blown up in a helicopter crash.
Q. Okay. And did he talk about that specific event, the helicopter crash more than one time that afternoon?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. And how did that affect him?
A. It upset him deep — deeply.
Q. Excuse me.
A. It would upset him deeply. He would start to cry periodically from time to time from talking about either a Marine or either his tradegy that he had been through.
Q. Okay.
A. From that.
Q. Did he — Did he tell you about any other experiences in the Marine Corp?
A. He did, but I don’t recall exactly which ones.
Q. Okay. Did he ever tell you that he had been in the Army National Guard?
A. No.
Q. Okay. Did he ever tell you that he had been a police officer?
A. I think so.
Q. Excuse me.
A. I believe so.
Q. Okay. Now, did he tell you where he had been a police officer?
A. No.
Q. Okay. Did he talk at all about any of his experiences as a police officer?
A. No.
Q. Okay. So, basically in terms of talking about his past, he focused his time in the Marine Corp?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. Now, did he always call himself, Michael?
A. No.
Q. Did he ask you to call him different names during the course of the afternoon?
A. Yes.
Q. How did that happen?
A. Going back to being at Mr. Worrell’s apartment from coming off work, David was talking to him and called him Brian. And he said, Dude don’t call me Brian, my name is Mike. And that’s when I heard David say, well I’ve done heard three (3) different names from you this afternoon. I’ve heard Mike, Larry, and Brian, which one is it, Dude? He said, just call me Mike, cause its going to piss me off if you do not call me Mike.
Q. And so, from that point on, did you call him Mike?
A. Yes.
Q. At any point later, did he ever correct you?
A. No.
Q. Okay. Okay. So, it was Mike from that point on for you?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. Now, as far as Mike and David drinking at Mike’s apartment while you still have your Hardee’s uniform on, did you drink any while you were there?
A. Not in my Hardee’s uniform, no.
Q. Okay. So, was any offered to you?
A. Yes.
Q. Okay. And you didn’t accept?
A. No.
Q. Why?
A. Because I had the feeling that I was pregnant, but I had not talked completely and fully with Mr. Bomber about me actually being a hundred percent sure in my mind that I was. But, we had talked about it.
Q. Talked about what? About —
A. Being pregnant.
Q. Okay. So, you weren’t sure that you were pregnant at least on June 5th?
A. Not a hundred percent sure as far as a doctor confirmation or a pregnancy test, no.
Q. But, you later found out that you were pregnant?
A. Yes.
