DEAR LADY JUSTICE By: Tommie Forster

Dear Lady Justice,
How are you? I’m writing to express the pain and suffering you have helped cause. On February 7, 2008, after loving you and trusting you for so many years from afar, I was finally introduced to you.
I can’t same it was a pleasure to meet you, but still I trusted you. I would have shaken your hand, but I was in shackles and chains, handcuffs fastened to my waist, so I hope you forgive me for that small slight. When I was told how long you wanted me to stay with you, I was shocked! I figured you made a mistake that soon would be corrected.
There I was standing before you seeking justice, and with no real financial resources at my disposal, you set me up with one of your “officers of the court.” Let me tell you, I could tell right away that there was no chemistry. But what did I know? I still trust you.
We kept seeing each other from time to time and throughout my ordeal, I had hoped that you would eventually realize your mistake, and send me home, and we would at least remain friends.
How naive of me. It took me a while, but I finally realized that, like an obessed lover, your powerful arms had embraced me and you had no desire to let me go.
I did my best to be released from your grip, but alas, it was not meant to be. You pulled me deeper and deeper into your dark embrace, where I still reside.
I wrote you many “motions” asking you to release me and accept your mistake, but all I get in return is your rejection. Every day I think of you and wonder how we went wrong.
I have seen you capable of mercy, forgiveness and even acceptance of your mistakes, and you are always portrayed as blind and balanced. But are you also deaf to the suffering of an injustice carried out in your name?
So, dear Lady Justice, hear the plea from this suffering soul and restore my faith and love for you. Let me stand before you and open your eyes to my proof. I am desperate. Release me with your blessing, so that I may pick up what is left of my life. Thereby restoring justice to the justice system.
Waiting for you….
