life behind the walls by Marcellus T. Henry

Today is a sad day for the inmate that lost his life. For what,I don’t know? For those that know what goes on behind these walls. Know that these CO’s had something to do with it.This time it was a white man, instead of a black man. You know it really hits home when I see police or CO’s jump on us. Every time I think about my dad I can remember when department of correction broke his legs. Its sad because our family’s and friends think that it’s nothing they can do, but it’s a lot that they can do. They have to be our voice and take a stand for what is right. Let’s be real, if the CO’s was on the streets doing what they are doing killing inmates or jumping on them they would be in jail. I guess when you are the police or a officer you can do what you want? How can the feeling of feeling threatened be a cause to justifiy an assault or death. How can society have laws in place but they only protect the minorty. When are we going to say enough is enough as human being? Don’t get me wrong I’m not calling out all law enforcement but what I’m saying is who is going to have the courage to stand against there own uniform, to do what’s right? Some times I struggle with this issue.I know if we stand as people and remove these uniform that society give us and use the uniform God gave us at birth, we will begin to do what is right.

  1. COs broke your dad’s legs? There should have been an enquiry and people losing their jobs for that. I’m sorry about the injustices in this world. I’m a believer, and I just hold on to the truth that God never intended us to live like this- and one day, there will be no more felonies, pain, punishment or anything else that’s bad. Keep your eyes fixed on that. Bless you.
