Other side of the moon: by Charles Lamar Garrison

like the backside of a workman’s clock
hidden from the timeless paradigm at hand
left to wander in a world
I could never understand
as there is no pillow for fallen tears
no April for winters thaw
not even lemonade
among the fray to heal us all
this is the other side of the moon
where scars are invisible to the naked eye
which cries out amid such heartache
but it’s much too cold for tears to fall
because the sun doesn’t shine on me
not on these fingertips at all
but bear with me…
