Hey! My name is Kevin. I’m 33 years of age and the father of a handsome son named EJ. I’ve been incarcerated for the last 7 1/2 years. I came in 11/19/2010 and the chapter closes on 5/10/2018. It’s been a long time coming. As for myself, well I’m a very humble and mellow guy. I enjoy bringing joy to the lives of people I choose to include in my life. My journey has been a strengthening and educational one. It has taught me the importance of seeing things for what they truly are, along with the value of life and family. As I advance toward a new beginning in my life, I’m reminded by my past hurdles and constantly aware of the effect they’ve had on me as a man. I thank God for giving me an opportunity to be slowed down and awakened to my blind living. I’m grateful that I have another opportunity to be positive in the world and in the lives of those around me. “A man doesn’t get what he wishes and/or prays for, but he gets what he JUSTLY earns. As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he shall remain.” I’ve learned that the oak sleeps inside of the acorn, and the bird waits inside of the egg. I understand now that there is so much more inside of me that is just waiting to blossom as the opportunity is provided. All it takes is self-control, positive thinking, and pure motivation to have those opportunities presented. The vision that you glorify in your mind and the ideal that you enthrone in your heart are what you will build your life by and whom you will become. I have no more time to waste, so its all about the take off from here. I’m 30 days away from a second shot at life.
