John 8:36 “So if the SON sets you free, you will be free indeed!”

    Calvary’s Crimson Canvas!
(From Gun-metal Grey)

Before a grey-stained set of paints and a matching colored canvas, did the captives set themselves between Regret and Resignation.

With brushes dried and dormant like their hearts had also turned, so they blended into one with their constraining designation.

With locks and iron bars as cold, accompanying observers, still a single soul thought differently than those also enchained.

They wore a brighter smile and chose to draw beyond such lines! Yea, they saw a bigger picture which was different than their pains.

Much lighter was their Hope though they were bound to there remain…for more decades than the their frame could stretch and still cling to this life.

Still the Joy inside their voices sang aloud as though paroled. They knew each sentence needed edits which alone — the LORD could scribe!

Therefore! This soul HE apprehended when the Grey had almost vanquished this beleaguered individual whose shackles nearly broke them!

Yet cleansed HE clean their slate with Calvary’s blood for Time eternal! So arise with Heaven’s palette; painting CHRIST for all the Broken!

As HIServant painting words for your Encouragement,

    Whitney

Devotional: Our crimes are washed clean by HIS Crimson! When we couldn’t see just how deep HIS love for us is, before we were off falling down and even ahead of Time itself, CHRIST died for you…and me!

Do you know of HIS great compassion and forgiveness? Have you heard of the ONE WHO holds the very key to your happiness in the midst of your ungracious Grey surroundings?

HE transforms everyone HE touches! Look at Paul on the road to Damascus in the New Testament. Here’s a guy killing Christians thinking he’s actually serving GOD! Loaded with cash, power, position and more, he never stopped.

Until GOD! One day he blinded him supernaturally as he was on a trip to kill and put into prison even more believers of JESUS CHRIST!

The whole chapter of Acts 9 details this conversion experience and provides for us a prisoner set free at last!

But wait a minute! Wasn’t he already free? How was he some prisoner?

Paul himself said in Romans 7:24 “Oh wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?”

My friend, all have sinned and come short of CHRIST’s glory. Romans 3:23.

Romans 6:6 “We know that our old self was crucified with CHRIST in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would NO longer be enslaved to sin!”

Galatians 5:1 “For freedom CHRIST has set us free; stand firm them, and do not surrender again to a yoke of slavery.” Slavery to sin.

    Again, Romans 3:23.

So WHO is this JESUS that saved a wretch like you and me? WHO is this GOD WHO can change our hearts and give us unlimited freedom and joy, even behind bars?

Ask HIM! Pray to HIM by simply calling on HIS NAME! As we saw in Romans three verse 23, we’ve all send and we’ve all fallen short of his glory. That means… all of us.

In fact, we read in Matthew 5:28, that even our thoughts betrayed us as sin! When Jesus told this to his disciples they were confused and cried out in amazement (just like you and I would too), “Who then can be saved?!!”

My friend, the LORD followed up and told them with GOD all things are possible!

And in Romans 5:8, we read that while we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us! For unworthy you and unworthy me!

And! It isn’t like all other false religions which state you have to be “good enough” in and of yourself in order to earn some version of Nirvana, Heaven or having eternal peace.

Being a Christian and being guaranteed life eternal with Jesus Christ depends ONLY on HIS blood sacrifice at Calvary. That’s WHO our faith IS based in!

He even stated while on the cross that “It is finished!” which means that HE paid the price for all our sins in full! Pardoned! Redeemed!

In fact, 1 Peter 2:24: “GOD made CHRIST WHO knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of GOD in CHRIST!”

So call out to HIM with a broken heart and a contrite (sincerely repenting) spirit! Psalms 51:17 shows us that coming to CHRIST this way means HE is listening!

“My sacrifice, O GOD, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, GOD, will not reject!”

As you pray to HIM, repent of your sinful thoughts and actions and believe that JESUS died for them all, past, present and future.

Because HE’s the only Way out of here…away from Hell. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of GOD is eternal life in CHRIST JESUS our LORD!”

Freedom! GOD Almighty’s free gift to us! So! Remember that guy Paul in the book of Acts who was killing Christians?

After GOD blinded him on the road to Damascus, he became a Christian who really preached GOD’s free gift and grace to those who weren’t Jews.

He went from being a top dog of the highest religious order then, the Pharisees on the outside, able to do anything he wanted…to being an often imprisoned preacher who was, per the facts of the WORD of GOD, beaten, shipwrecked, whipped, stoned and left for dead. More than a few times, no less!

Acts 16:22-25 “22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods.
23 After they had been SEVERELY flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.
24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.”

And yet!! Paul rejoiced, sang and prayed even more in the midst of horrible persecution…just because he preached CHRIST!

In Philippians 1:6-7 “I am sure of this, that HE who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of CHRIST JESUS. Indeed, it is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, and you are all partners with me in grace, both in my IMPRISONMENT and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.”

Freedom while being a prisoner! Incarcerated for CHRIST with great purpose!

Philippians 3:8 “Nothing is as wonderful as knowing CHRIST JESUS my LORD. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is CHRIST!”

So GOD took hold of Paul and transformed a violent, self righteous man into HIS servant. HE took a foolish soul like mine and made me a writer and scribe to reach you today.

Please accept HIM today and serve HIM relentlessly!

    As HIServant in your service,
