I just wanted to hit on a subject that is always an issue and as I read a few days ago in a California newspaper it is still an issue. The person who wrote about the “Gate Money” in that paper said that the inmates in California prisons only received $250 in money when you are relaeased from prison there. Well, he needs to be thankful. We here in the Georiga prison system only receive $25 when we are released from prison. It is something to talk about and try to figure out who makes the decisions about how much money a offender receives when they leave prison. Who makes those decisions? Does any of you guys know? Is it according to the state they are incarcerated in? Curious minds would like to know….
I am thankful for the TC and programs that actually help a ex-offender make it in the outside world and NOT get another charge because of lack of help when we get out of here. You don’t get back on your feet over night, and sometimes the pressure of having the money to live and the money to pay fines, etc…just gets the best of people who are trying very hard not to come back to prison. I had that on my heart and mind today so, I just thought I would take it to the streets. Thank you all for listening.

Hi Tammy, this is an interesting point. I’ve not thought of it before. I’m going to do some research. Thanks for posting.
It is hard to get back on your feet again, and I can’t imagine doing that with $25 or $250.00……Seems TC does try to help. You need some transition, especially after being locked up for a while! God is faithful and remember you have friends outside the gates to help you……we are praying already for your success when you go home!
