SELDOM BUT SURELY by Benita Ochoa

Seldom but surely, when no one else is around
When you find that it’s easy, you knock me straight to the ground
Defeated and ashamed, heartbroken and torn
My tears come to life, but they take no form

Seldom but surely, when no one else has a clue
When we come face to face…there’s no me without you
You watch when I crumble, my misery an addiction
And it hurts me to know that you are my own, my only affliction

Seldom but surely, when it’s just the two of us
When the silence is loud, yet the world is oblivious
You beat me without mercy for the strength that I lack
This torture, the agony, I’m too weak to fight back

Seldom but surely, this nightmare comes true
But more often than not, I fucken hate you
Who are you and why do you cause me such strife?
What do they call you? Oh yeah, they call you….
