A Dreamer: By Tammy Dodd

Share

This is a poem I wrote for my kids when I first started doing time when I was 21 years old in GWCI…Georgia Women’s Correctional Institution Hardwick, Ga. It is now a men’s prison.

A Dreamer

They say dreams are meant for dreamers, so a dreamer I will be.
For now it’s the only way to have ya’ll here with me.
Every night when I lay down and close my eyes to sleep, I drift away to a private place where ya’ll are mine to keep…in my dreams.

  1. That, my dear Tammy is the sweetest thing I’ve heard in a long time! I know your kids are grown now, but even so precious time will be yours to spend one day soon!
