Introducing Temple Bravo

My name is Temple Bravo, and I’m 57 years old. I were incarcerated in 1987 and I’m serving life. I’ve been in prison for the past 30 years. Like so many misguided young males at the time (mid 80s), I chose to embrace the wrong company and a lifestyle in which, I’ve come to LOATH. For the past 30 years I have been working tirelessly to right the wrongs I’ve committed.
Over the years I’ve acquired my GED, and have obtained quite a few certificates from different vocational programs. I am also a published author. Two years ago I had a brainstorm, I look around me in the prison and for the first time since I started my time, I saw beneath the mask of those around me the deep seated pain and regrets for their current predicament. And for some reason beyond comprehension, I strongly felt I could make a difference. So I got my hand everything pertaining to nonprofit organizations. When I felt I had a working understanding of the ins and outs I reached out to a few guys and shared my desire to start a nonprofit organization, and explained that our mission would be geared solely towards prisoners and their children, in alleviating their pains. From that meeting, Second Chance Quest was born.
We are currently mentoring prisoners in the facility, we have classes twice a week, and at the end of ever twelve weeks we have a graduation ceremony for the graduates. The look on those men faces is priceless, to some, this was the first time they’ve experienced a graduation. In less than a year, I’ve made a difference in the lives of so many, it’s unreal!
It is our hope that Second Chance Quest will play a pivotal role in reducing the recidivism rate nationally. We are currently publishing a newsletter every quarter, in the hope of bridging the gap between prisoners and the public, at times people just need to be heard- this is true for both victims of crime and those convicted of said.
I’m looking forward to hearing from the public, pros and cons, will reply to all enquiries and opinions. Contact info:
