“I can’t imagine life” by Timothy Kelly

My granfather passed away in 2013. I was lucky enough to go to the funeral service. I was able to pay for everything myself, from my inmate savings account. I was glad I could do it and not have to ask for the money.

The service was real nice. Everyone was dressed in their Seahawk gear. My grandpa “Loose Bruce” was a die hard fan.

While at the service I was able to see family I hadn’t seen in years. I had a few ex girlfriends show up as well. My grandfather also taught at my highschool, Clover Park.

My nephews were with me the whole time sitting on my lap, taking pictures with me. I sat with my Grandmother Anne. It was one of my saddest days for the loss of my grandfather but it was also one of my best days for the family and friends I got to see and meet.

Towards the end of the service this man came up to me and introduced himself to me. He said “Hello, my name is Lyle Attebery, I was a friend of your grandfather”.

So we talked for a brief moment and then he asked me if I would mind if he wrote me. I said know I’d love to hear from you.

Now mind you at the time I didn’t think much of it. I had a lot on my mind with family, the passing of my Grandfather.

So I leave the service which was was and nice and sad and at the same time. A couple weeks pass by and I get a hand written letter from Lyle Attebery. The man I met at the service and hadn’t thought of since then.

Through the years I’ve had people say they were going to write and then life gets in the way and the mail never seems to find my cell.

The letter was nice and I wrote him back. Never really knowing what to expect.

So the year now is 2017. The man known as Lyle Attebery has become one of my best friends and I consider him family.

Life is so strange, you never know whats around the corner or what lies ahead.

Lyle is a daily part of my life, from a email, phone call or a thought in my head. I if I hadn’t met him my life would of gone on. But now that he is in my life I can’t image life without him.

My life is a better place with you in it.

Lyle, thank you for being my friend. You make my life better and I love you for it.
