TRAINING WITH WILLY

I have been out several times training with Willy and he is just absorbing it all like a sponge.

I have been working on HEEL.
I make him heel when we walk.
I make him heel going up and down the stairs.

Everytime he’s out of the heel position I stop walking and say “heel”. Then if he doesn’t return to the correct position on his own, I gently guide him to it. Then praise him thoroughly.

I even do this on the stairs. Its no different. If he’s out of position, I will stop and make him return to where he is suppose to be. Its a little tougher but worth the effort in the long run.

Its like this for any command you teach dogs. Its not as hard as you would think. You just have to be consistent at it. Every time he is on the leash he is heeling. That means he’s by your left knee at ALL times.

The biggest failure with people in training their dog is just that. Being consistent.

Its just as easy to succeed as it is to fail in training a dog.

If the dogs learnng, your Doing it right. Keep up the good work.
