I’ve been locked up almost 19 years, since I was 18, and now I have less than 9 months until I’ll be walking around out there. Someone just asked me how confident I was that I would stay out of trouble and be successful out there. I told them 100%. Their response (and the typical response of many) was: “You can’t be sure.”

The negativity aside, actually I CAN be sure. And the reason is because I’m a different person, with different values. For people who haven’t changed, their future and success is VERY uncertain, but for me, I don’t devote even an iota of neural activity to worrying about it. And that feels really good.
