I have decided to undertake the over whelming task of finding love from Prison. The task is not an easy one to say the least and I am
overwhelmed.
For starters, the majority of us saw our friends, girl friends or wives, and Even family evaporate upon the falling of the gavel. And as our sentences wear on, the memory of us in our social circles fades along with the few Pillars of love and support that remain in touch.
So with little exception, we are all human beings in here. And weather we admit it or not, we all crave human contact, love and friendship.
Some of us are spending our “Prime Years” incarcerated, some will never leave.
So these are my questions:
How can we reach out and attempt to establish new friends, community support, maby a date?
Is it a “Pipe Dream” to try to live a semi normal social existance?
Is it possible to find meaningfull friendships and relationships from a pen pal site littered with Sharks and Hustlers?
What about those of us who dont have a pillar of support wiling to promote our social outreach?
I am attempting to find social contacts and ultimately someone who is willing to see me, and love me for who I am and where I am in life right now.
I AM A DIAMOND IN THE RUFF. There can be no truer sense of the phrase. And I will keep you posted on my progress as I wade through the questionable avenues availible to me.
In the meantime I would like to chalange you to reach out and try to forge a new friendship with a prisoner. As long as you keep an open mind and never let yourself get walked on, it can be a eye opening experience. You might be suprised at the quality of people you find.
