I turned 37 today, and first thing in the morning, I got a happy birthday from someone that I never expected would know or care about it. Normally, I don’t even mention my birthday in this place, because I don’t much like the drama and shit-talk from guys in here, who seem to consider someone else’s birthday as an opportunity to act like 10-year olds. But this was different, and it felt nice to hear it.
Of course, the fact that I have only ONE MORE birthday in prison might have a little something to do with me lightening up about the subject too. 🙂
