Okay, so maybe the reaction over confederate flags has gotten a bit out of hand. Now politicians are lobbying to remove memorial statues of the Civil War and things like that. But … it’s so ridiculous for conservative Southerners to think that this is somehow “wiping out their history” or whatever. No one is rewriting history or destroying evidence that the Civil War happened. It’s about not using government to display these things. People can still put confederate flags and memorabilia on their homes, have private groups, etc. For me, it was all about taking down the flags from government buildings. The free market will take care of the rest.
